Spicy Veggie Burger Patties
You can use a food processor to mix the ingredients. I crush the cereals into crumbs in my blender, then just mash the beans and mix everything together in a bowl.
Veggie Burger Patties
1 cup bran flakes or bran cereal
1/2 cup oats, quick or regular
1 can (15 or 16 oz) chili beans in spicy sauce, undrained
1/4 cup chopped onions
1 egg, slightly beaten
5 fresh lettuce or spinach leaves
5 slices tomato
5 whole grain buns
Place cereal and oats in food processor and crush into fine crumbs. Add can of undrained chili beans, onions, and egg. Process a few bursts until smooth.
Shape mixture into 5 patties. Fry patties in skillet sprayed with cooking spray. Cook until brown on each side, turning once.
Serve on whole grain buns with lettuce or spinach leaves and tomato slices.
